Profile
Grant came to photography from his love of nature and the landscape particularly the wild places. His chosen medium is therefore primarily landscape work. He likes to record the atmospheric light of that moment and not just the landscape itself which you can see in the images exhibited in the Galleries.
Grant has been a keen photographer for many years but only seriously after joining a local camera club 13 years ago. He has since gained his Licentiateship with The Royal Photographic Society and gained acceptances in local and regional exhibitions. He has also received prizes for entries in competitions in national magazines.
Grant has travelled widely in the UK and Europe, in his campervan, and since his retirement farther afield to Africa, New Zealand, Canada, Peru and the National Parks of the U.S.A..
Grant regularly gives talks to charity groups and photographic clubs using slides on New Zealand and Southern Africa; digital presentation on Peru, USA National Parks and the Pyrenees plus a print talk entitled "Just add water"
Grant now captures his images on a digital SLR and produces his prints with an inkjet printer. He keeps computer adjustments to a minimum. He also enjoys converting some of his images to monochrome.
